Indie training put at [pounds sterling]32m
Article Abstract:
The producers alliance Pact and the charity Independent Production Training Fund (IPTF) commissioned Spectrum Strategy to survey training on the job. The report showed that though the cost of training was [pounds sterling] 31.5 million, it was informal and ad hoc, conducted by people who were not qualified to do the training. However, the survey of 224 indies with 66 questionnaires found that there were apparent savings in upfront and external training and that it recommended improving the quality of on job training with balanced and better investments. The IPTF announced that it would be spending [pounds sterling] 100,000 to develop in company training at the independents.
